About UniBreak Internships

UniBreak Internships are tailored to students’ skills, experience and interests in an international context. Students may work in a local or multi-national company or grassroots non-government organisation in the field of International Development. The UniBreak Internship program is a fantastic way to experience the world beyond the backpacker hostel and gain invaluable professional experience overseas as part of your travels and your degree.
Destinations and Dates
UniBreak Internships are available in a number of destinations in Asia and South America in limited fields. There are a number of departure dates in December, January, February or June for each destination. Internships have a minimum duration of 8-weeks, and may require basic to intermediate foreign language skills.
Internship Fields
Internships are available in a number of destinations in areas such as:
• Teaching
• Tourism and Hospitality
• International Community Development
• Medical and Nursing
Internships in Argentina are available in a number of additional areas including:
• International Business
• Marketing
• Graphic Design
• Politics and Law
• Human Rights
• Journalism
• Tourism
• Zoology/Animal Conservation
You will be expected to work 5 days per week and 6-8 hours per day depending on the destination. Your weekends are free for you to explore the local area. Antipodeans Abroad will provide comprehensive preparation, advice and support throughout the lead-up to and during the entire duration of the internship.
Accommodation
Accommodation options include share houses, student residence and home stays. Students are generally placed in pairs in local home stays and student travelling together can request to be placed with the same family. Accommodation is basic, but comfortable and clean.
How To Apply
To apply for the program you will need to fill in an Interview Request Form online as well as submit a resume and references. Please refer to the Interview Request section for details on how to submit your application.
After your interview we will send you a Booking Form. Once you have decided that you would like to go, you will need to return this form with your first instalment to us to secure your place on the program.
