ABOUT VIETNAM
Vietnam has a unique and rich civilisation. Made famous by the Vietnamese American war, Vietnam is now a country at peace. With spectacular scenery and a distinct culture it makes Vietnam a fascinating place to visit. Vietnam has a diverse climate because of the range of altitudes and latitudes, but the entire country lies in the tropics so it is primarily tropical. Northern Vietnam has some of the region’s most spectacular scenery. This mountainous area is home to many distinct hill tribes, some of which remain untouched by Vietnamese and Western influences. To the east of the capital, Hanoi, is spectacular Halong Bay with over 3,000 islands rising from the clear, blue waters of the Gulf of Tonkin. It is one of the natural marvels of Vietnam and has been designated as a UNESCO world heritage site.
