Community Challenge allows professionals - teachers, nurses or other health professionals - as well as institutional groups an opportunity to assist with community projects in Africa, Asia and South America. Our projects involve two-week structured workshops to teach local teachers, nurses and other professionals, to improve their skills, their methodologies and generally lend support to the largely under-trained local professionals.
Our projects are organised by communities at grassroots level, allowing volunteers to immerse themselves in daily life while supporting the local people in the village. Volunteers can participate in education, health, development and community service projects.
This is a unique opportunity for teams of professionals to make a contribution in a short-term, managed placement, to pass on their skills and experience while they immerse themselves in the culture of a fascinating local culture.
Antipodeans Abroad will prepare the group and facilitate the in-country workshops with the assistance of local people. Group members will require an ability to show initiative, to organise, to assess local needs and quickly respond to them. The placement will be both professionally challenging and rewarding.
