How will charity supporters fund the Charity Challenge?
There are a number of ways in which the challenge and travel costs can be funded. Antipodeans Abroad will provide participants with a Fundraising Guidelines booklet providing all sorts of advice on how funds can be raised. Examples include:
  • Company corporate sponsorship.

  • Family and Friend donations through setting up an online sponsorship page

  • Holding a fundraising event e.g. a Quiz Night, Fashion show or Party

  • Approaching local media

  • Sponsored events


Can we assist on a community project relevant to our charity?
Yes! If you would like to assist on a community project that is directly related to your charity's cause, then Antipodeans Abroad will be more than happy to tailor make a project to suit your needs.

What is the standard of accommodation provided whilst on the project?
The accommodation provided varies between countries and community projects. Types of accommodation can include 1- 5 star hotels, home-stays in local villages with host families or tented accommodation carried as part of the challenge.

In what countries does the Charity Challenge Program operate?
Charity Challenges operate in the following countries - Nepal, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, India, China, New Zealand, Tanzania and Peru. Should you be interested in a challenge in any other country, Antipodeans Abroad will be more than happy to tailor make an itinerary to suit your requirements.

Can I extend to pursue personal travel after the charity challenge?
Most certainly. Should you wish to travel pre or post your charity challenge then Antipodeans Abroad will be more than happy to assist you with any information you may need.

Will Antipodeans Abroad organise the flights and travel insurance?
Antipodeans Abroad can provide a full package, organising flights and travel insurance. Travel Insurance is a compulsory component of travel with Antipodeans Abroad so our preferred partner, Cover-More Travel Insurance, will be more than happy to offer a free quote. If you choose alternative travel insurance, Antipodeans Abroad must be advised of your provided and policy number.

What Charity Challenges are available?
Antipodeans Abroad can offer all sorts of challenges from trekking, cycling, volunteer and family challenges. All trips are graded on their level of difficulty to guide you in choosing the most appropriate challenge.

What work is involved in the community project?
Projects will vary according to the destination but typically a group will work to improve the educational prospects of children in a small town or village. This may include building a well, or heating equipment for a classroom. Or alternatively assisting in painting or renovating, building children’s play equipment, classroom furniture, planting trees or gardens. At the end of the day each project will be the result of discussion at local level and be seen to be sustainable and worthwhile by the locals. It's also possible to work in conservation and community development. Ultimately, we'll discuss the project with you to achieve the best possible outcome.

What's the role of your Antipodeans Abroad Guide?
The Guide's role is that of a safety, logistics and technical expert. They ensure the smooth running of the challenge and provide support, advice and guidance to all participants; therefore promoting a successful and enjoyable experience.

Is the Charity Challenge tax deductable?
This will need to be assessed on a case-by-case basis however it is generally accepted that the target you raise is tax deductible if paid through your charity.
