Sports Coaching

Are you a bit of a sports nut? Excel in working with children and encouraging skill development? Then our UniBreak Maldives placement could be for you.

THE MALDIVES

Our sports coaching placement in the Maldives is perfect for students interested in water sports, especially swimming and rowing. You have the opportunity to run swimming lessons in the mornings and evenings for local children and adults who can’t swim. These sessions will mainly involve young women but young boys may also get involved.

The sessions are organised by the school in terms of the general administration but students and other volunteers are responsible for the safety and teaching of the participants in the water. However, having fun is the main aim!

Students with rowing experience may also be able to assist in the development of the sport in the region. Once again, this sport focuses on women as it is being used as a stepping stone to develop their confidence both in and on the water.

What can I say, the Maldives was amazing. I am so glad that I got to take part in such a great experience. Swimming with the primary children was a major hit. They loved every minute of it and after two weeks I had my girls swimming freestyle. It wasn't perfect but to see the improvement was well worth it.
