Volunteer Projects

As a UniBreak volunteer, you have the chance to work on a community volunteer project, immersing yourself and making a contribution to the local people. Many students decide to carry out a project related to their field of study in order to gain practical experience and insight for the future. Students studying a health-related discipline may decide to carry out a community health project in local hospitals or clinics; teaching students may choose to teach English in local organisations; and engineering students may like to assist in constructing houses or classrooms.

Alternatively, you may feel like taking a break from study and choose to carry out a project totally unrelated to your degree. The UniBreak program is a great way for students to branch out and discover hidden talents and interests they never knew they had!

SUSTAINABLE PROJECTS
All our volunteer projects are thoroughly researched, screened and monitored to ensure they are sustainable and directly benefiting the local community. Over 20 years of experience have gone into making these projects rewarding and worthwhile for both volunteers and local communities. Be it teaching, health work, building, care work or community development, student contributions to the community are worthwhile and highly valued.

IN-COUNTRY AGENTS
In every destination, we work with qualified and reliable representatives who help oversee all aspects of UniBreak placements and project work. These ‘In-Country Agents’ provide students with an orientation session, facilitate community projects and are the first point of contact 24-hour a day for any questions or concerns.

FREE TIME
UniBreak placements are also a great opportunity for students to travel and explore a new country and its people. Weekends are free for students to travel with fellow volunteers and make the most of their new surrounds. From paragliding, Himalayan treks, white water rafting and Amazon Jungle adventures, students can relish in the opportunity to explore and see the world.

I must say, the Cambodian UniBreak placement was hands down the best experience of my life. I not only learnt a lot personally, but professionally as well. I learnt a lot about children, culture and communication. I will definitely take these skills with me everywhere, and believe it will assist me to becoming a better person.
