Destinations

The UniBreak program gives you the opportunity to travel overseas and carry out community projects in a wide range of countries across Asia, Africa and South America. From the beautiful beaches of Mauritius to the breathtaking landscape of Nepal to the rich history of Peru, you can live, work and be completely immersed in some of world’s most fascinating cultures.

You have complete control over which project and destination you travel to on your UniBreak, however places in each destination are limited and are granted on a first-in, first-served basis. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you book well in advance in order to ensure your first preference.

WHICH DESTINATION IS RIGHT FOR ME?
Choosing the “right” destination can be difficult. We recommend considering several important factors when choosing a destination for the UniBreak program. Firstly, you should consider the type of community projects you wish to carry out and in which countries these projects are available. Secondly, you should consider different accommodation options. Do you envisage living with a local host family or would you prefer staying with other Australian students in guesthouse accommodation? Also consider past experience – you may want to travel somewhere completely new and unknown or you may have a favourite country you’re dying to return to.

Please read through the UniBreak Info Brief and attend an Information Night in order to determine which destination is most suitable for you. To read more about each destination, please refer to the map below or simply click on a country in our side menu.

You can also read stories from our past UniBreak students by jumping onto the blog, or heading to the “My Antipodeans Experience” page.

All in all, I couldn’t recommend the unibreak program enough. I had so many opportunities to try different things while I was there that I don’t think would have been possible had I decided to simply travel through Kenya under my own steam.
