Laos

Groups can travel to Luang Prabang, a UNESCO Heritage town about an 8-hour drive north from the capital city Vientiane and a 2-day cruise down the Mekong from the Northern Thai border. Despite being one of the main tourist centres of Laos, Luang Prabang remains very peaceful and a wonderful place to be immersed in Lao culture. The people are incredibly friendly and there is a huge amount to do on weekends.

UNIVERSITY FACULTY PROJECTS
UniBreak Group placements are available in and around the Northern Laos town of Luang Prabang.

Nursing, Medical and Health
Laos provides a unique and enriching opportunity for health faculty groups to gain valuable insight into health care in a rural, resource-poor setting. Groups can work alongside local staff in rural clinics and schools delivering grassroots health care and education. Group placements in Laos provide an opportunity to experience health care in remote villages accessible by vehicle and foot.

ACCOMMODATION
Student Groups may live in a volunteer share house in the heart of Luang Prabang and in family homestays in the local villages. The houses have basic facilities but are secure and comfortable.
