What are the program dates? What is the closing date to apply for the program?
GlobalEd Internship Program commences on the first Monday of January, June, July and December of each year. We could arrange other start dates according to special request. We strongly recommend applying for the program 12 weeks prior to the start date, so you will have enough time to prepare.

What types of roles and what types of work environment will I be working in?
Your role, responsibilities and work environment will depend entirely on three factors:

  1. Your academic and professional level of experience: The internship is tailored to suit and build on your existing level of experience, making the experience interesting and meaningful for each individual.
  2. The length of your internship: Longer internships generally increase chances of full-time employment with the company.
  3. The type of industry you select: The work environment will differ greatly from industry to industry. We work with companies of all sizes and in many different areas.

What cities are the internships available in?
Internships are currently available in Beijing and Shanghai.

What industries are they available in?
Internships are available in Beijing and Shanghai in industries such as accounting, media, engineering, marketing etc. Please specify your preferences in the enquiry form and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Are accommodation and meals provided?
Accommodation and meals are not provided. However, your host company may take you out for the occasional meal or work function. We can provide optional service to find accommodation according to your budget.

Do I need travel insurance?
You definitely need travel insurance to cover personal liability, emergency, medical and repatriation expenses, and the possibility of loss and theft of luggage and valuables. We also advise you to be covered for the unforeseen cancellation of your trip. We recommend CoverMore insurance to our students.

What kind of activities and excursions are available?
During the year, we will arrange excursions or activities as a means of ensuring that your placement is meeting your expectations, such as a Chinese New Year party or a trip to Inner Mongolia.
